I tuned in to today’s episode of Oprah on past life regression. On the show, a number of individuals with fears and other stuck issues opted to try past life regression, a type of hypnosis that takes one back to past lives, despite their skepticism. And the results were pretty impressive.
Fears and phobias were eliminated in 30 minutes and other emotional issues resolved just as fast. After the process, the participants reported a greater sense of ease and meaning to life. Oprah and her guests on the show urged us all to “keep an open mind.” One of her guests, Dr. Oz stated that we should be comfortable feeling uncomfortable about what is out there and we should be open to doing whatever it takes to make our lives better.
I am not sure I believe in past lives, but I do know that the unconscious mind (meaning the rest of us, everything besides our limited conscious awareness) likes to communicate in metaphors and symbols. If the mind creates a metaphor for a problem and the metaphor comes to some sort of resolution, the problem disappears. When doing Timelime therapy, which can be considered a form of past life regression, with my own clients, some clients go back to pas lives, and their current lives change as a result.
Timeline therapy has also taken me back to past lives… I don’t know if what I found was real, but I do know the problem disappeared.
I discussed the topic with a friend and colleague, Patrick Luce, certified hypnotherapist and practitioner of regression therapy in Montreal. In his opinion, regression therapy isn’t limited to use for serious problems, but can also be used for more common issues such as uncontrollable anger, relationship issues, bad habits and trouble sleeping.
He also told me (and I think this makes a lot of sense) that regression therapy is especially ideal for issues, the causes of which remain unexplained. Regression therapy takes you back to a cause, real or metaphorical, which brings the problem to resolution.
Like I always say; change is possible when you know how.
If you’re afraid of hypnosis and regression therapy, you can get regressed to deal with that too!
